Environmental Radiation Monitoring Centre

The Environmental Radiation Monitoring Centre is a facility for monitoring around nuclear power plants and constant monitoring of space radiation. The calibration building in a separate building carries out "calibration" necessary for the radiation measurement equipment to accurately measure the radiation dose. The environmental radiation monitoring telemetry system The environmental radiation monitoring telemetry system collects measurement data of monitoring posts (measurement of air dose rate, radioactivity concentration in the air, wind direction, wind speed, etc.) installed at nuclear power plants, and constantly monitors them. These data are processed by the computer, aggregated and organized, and are displayed in real time in city halls, offices and prefectural citizens' halls of 13 municipalities around the power plant. The Environmental Radiation Monitoring Centre constantly monitors environmental radioactivity around nuclear power plants by using the environmental radioactivity monitoring telemetry system.

Fukushima branch

At the Fukushima branch, radiochemical analysis of alpha ray radionuclides and beta ray radionuclides contained in trace amounts in environmental samples and the like are carried out.

Inawashiro Aquatic Environment Centre

Inawashiro Aquatic Environment Centre is a facility that has an auxiliary function for efficiently conducting survey and research on water quality, radioactive substances, etc. in Lake Inawashiro and the Upper Bandai Lakes. We will raise awareness about the dissemination of information on radioactive substances in water and the preservation of the environment in Lake Inawashiro and the Bobandido Lakes. We will also use it as a base for activities such as NPOs related to the natural environment around Lake Inawashiro. Panels and books on lakes and the environment line up in the center, and you can visit and view freely.

Wildlife Symbiosis Centre

Wildlife symbiosis center is a facility for expert and efficient wildlife monitoring. We will disseminate information on radioactive materials and wildlife and biodiversity. Also, communicate the relationship between us and "wildlife" from the viewpoints of "radiation" and "our life" and tell you that the wildlife and its habitat are connected closely.Inside the center, we are stripping wildlife, exhibiting QA panels, broadcasting images and so on, so you can visit and view freely.
