Collaboration with JAEA,NIES and F-REI

In order to conduct environmental recovery and creation from the unprecedented nuclear disaster, it is necessary to promote our efforts by bringing domestic and overseas expertise together. NIES, a central institute for environmental research in Japan, and F-REI, a central base of creative restoration are located in this research building, and promote research.

Cooperation between Fukushima Prefecture and the IAEA

Fukushima Prefecture and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the area of radiation monitoring and decontamination on December 15, 2012.

 

Whereas the Practical Arrangements were signed with the IAEA and have been revised as needed. Based on the Practical Arrangements, the cooperative projects have been carried out in the designated areas and activities.

 Started in 2013 and continued until 2022 for 10 years of cooperation. After Prefecture’s request, the term has been extended for 5 years until 2027.
